| Not all Strip-till is created equal, and the DMI
nutri-till’r 5310 proves it! Using heavy-duty
coulters and the exclusive DMI High Clearance
Shank, the nutri-till’r 5310 cuts through residue
and raises the soil into a berm. Then the
exclusive berm build’r™ attachments and berm
condition’r™ baskets develop a seed bed that
warms faster for earlier planting and greater
yield potential!
Strength, performance and reliability are all
proof that the DMI nutri-till’r 5310 is the
ultimate Strip-till system.
Objective #1 - Manage Residue
The nutri-till’r 5310 uses large 24” diameter coulters, allowing it to operate in extra-heavy residue, eliminating plugging and bunching. These coulters part the residue, smooth residue flow and do not mix residue into seed bed.
Coulter Design Specifications
- Large 24" diameter coulters
- 16° taper blade stays sharp longer
- Swivel coulter is built for tough conditions
- 1-3/4" diameter shafts
- 1" thick steel arms and 3" diameter springs for long life
- Exclusive 300 lbs. of spring down force
FACT: DMI Strip-till provides proper handling of residue, unlike other systems.
Objective #2 - Create Soil Tilth
5310 Strip-till Row System
The newly redesigned High Clearance
Shank for the nutri-till’r 5310 row system
provides 1,250 lbs of holding power for
uniform seedbeds and nutrient placement.
A redesigned double disk berm build’r and
berm condition’r rolling basket improves
durability and performance. The large 24”
diameter coulter delivers optimum cutting ability in the highest residue conditions. See HCS Assembly for further specifications.
HCS Assembly
The exclusive DMI High Clearance Shank™ provides holding power for even very difficult soil conditions, while the Strip-till knife tills and raises the soil up into a berm. The shank and knife design protect the assembly and toolbar and ensure a more uniform tillage depth and nutrient placement. An increased trip height clears buried rocks and other obstructions to optimize productivity.Optional DMI-designed row cleaner reduces the residue on the berm by up to 90%.
Design Specifications
- Holding force of 1,150 lbs.
- Primary-tillage style tripping geometry with force-relieving design for added protection of assembly and toolbar
- Durable, heat-treated 1-1/4" x 2" edge-bent style shank with 1" pivot pin
- Increased trip clearance of 7.5"
FACT: DMI Strip-till performs consistent in-row tillage, unlike other Strip-till systems.
Objective #3 - Build the Seed Bed
The exclusive DMI berm build’r™ attachment has properly positioned blades to retain all of the soil off the knife and build a uniform berm. The berm build’r attachment pivots at the toolbar mount, not the shank, to stay in position even when the shank trips. In addition, this exclusive berm build’r attachment provides the optimum berm height and shape, not a trench.
Design Specifications
- Heavy-duty, H-frame and arms
- Adjustable angle and width for soil conditions and speed
- Large, 18" diameter, dull, smooth blades
- With adequate, but not excessive, down force
- No grooves on side of berm
- Does not mix residue onto the berm
FACT: DMI Strip-till builds a more uniform seed bed.

Objective #4 - Condition the Seed Bed
The nutri-till’r 5310 is also available with the optional DMI berm condition’r™ basket. This exclusive berm condition’r basket sizes clods while it reduces holes in the berm for better seed-to-soil contact and improved germination and emergence. The berm condition’r basket shapes and pre-settles the berm without leaving a groove beside it.
Design Specifications
- Large 14" diameter baskets, notched side plates
- Adjustable spring pressure for different soil conditions
- Basket can be easily stowed if not required, depending on soil conditions
- Flat, concave bar design sizes clods while shaping the berm
FACT: Other Strip-till systems often leave large holes and trenches!

Objective #5 - Apply Fertilizer
Banding nutrients reduces tie-up and improves availability to the plant, which maximizes the return on investment of the fertilizer. The nutri-till’r 5310 places fertilizer in the root zone, where more soil moisture is present longer into the growing season. It also ensures that the fertilizer is indexed to the seed placement zone for both early and late season plant food availability. The exclusive DMI High Clearance Shank has the required holding force to keep the fertilizer band at the proper depth.
Design Specifications
- Strip-till knife places dry, liquid and/or NH3 fertilizer
- Dry boot includes band diffuser for optimum 5% fertilizer concentration to soil volume
FACT: DMI Strip-till places fertilizer at a consistent depth!
Objective #6 - Index Rows for Planting
The nutri-till’r 5310 has optional heavy-duty side mount row markers. Available in 12- and 16-row (30" row) sizes, the premier quality row markers are used for Strip-till to index for planting. Their cut-out blades are easy to see. Please note:
6- and 8-row markers are also available for the mounted units as well..
Design Specifications
- Spring-type safety breakaway (12- and 16-row only)
