Nutrient Importance

Plant food availability refers to the ability of the plant to access and use fertilizer. Applying a large amount of fertilizer is useless if it cannot get to the plants' roots. Plants feed from their roots. Available plant food is the amount of nutrients the roots can actually take up for plant use, not the total amount present in the soil.
